Helping you make the most from the School of Nursing and Midwifery

I am asking for your support to become the SU representative of the School of Nursing and Midwifery as I believe I have the skills and ability to support your university interests. My previous management roles in the private sector paired with my hospital and nursing experience allow me to have a well rounded approach to working within the Student Union to protect our rights as students. I am also prepared to work on your behalf by communicating with the university management to promote better working partnerships with students and staff which should improve working practice.

In addition to most university courses, as future and developing nurses we also have regular placements and these placements do not always run smooth for a variety of reasons. This is an area of concern for myself and one that needs to be addressed with the university, link lectures and where possible the trusts themselves to iron out the current wrinkles. I am also thinking of ways that students can be better supported whilst on placement, to prevent the feeling of isolation or despair in extreme circumstances.

Most of all I am looking forward to working with you to get the most out of your training and time at the School or Nursing and Midwifery.
