As I am running for the position of Vice President of Academic Affairs I am eager to represent the University of Brighton at a National conference.  It is important for me to attend this conference if elected as I will be able to liaise with sabbatical officers from other universities.

The political side of the being a student is something I am generally interested in. I have read a lot of reports and literature published by the NUS for my position of Vice President of Academic Affairs which would well equip me at this conference. I would take with me the enthusiasm and eagerness to absorb as much information to better the current academic affair of our student union.  Being able to attend this conference would be extremely exciting.

This year is especially important because it is the elections for the NUS president.  It would be a great privilege to be able to cast a vote on behalf of the University of Brighton.

The discussion at the conference will include matters such as future campaigns, views on high education funding and academic support.  I would be extremely interested to hear this at a national level and to develop and focus them for our university. Another advantage of attending this conference will be networking with other sabbatical officers for union development.
